This magazine “Cup Of Knowledge” is not only a holy or entertaining magazine. It’s a mixture of all types. Like a tea is mixture of Milk, Water, Tea Leaf, Sugar and other spices. Similarly, this magazine “Cup Of Knowledge” is mixture of Milk (Religious Knock), Water (English Language Knock), Tea Leaf (Career knock), Sugar (Knock the brain), Spices (Cover story, Chhotti – 2 Magar Moti Baatein) and Cardamom (Editorial Knock). Our motive to release this magazine only is sharing knowledge. I am always try to put short, best and realistic data in this magazine but if any time you found false statement or word then it would be by only mistake and you have right to tell us about such material.
As we know, elections are under way. A layman will vote keeping in mind what the candidate has done for himself till the date. According to me, one should vote keeping in mind what the candidate has been doing for the nation or state. A layman will always think that what the government has done for him but he forgets that’s he is not only the one, the government has to look after but all the citizen as a whole and the government has to consider many things before taking any single decision. Most of the time, people don’t go to vote, just by thinking the government has not done anything for them. Let’s not forget that India is a democratic country and constitute has given us the right to elect our representative therefore we should make best use of this right and vote and elect the best representative. If the entire people will vote with a sound thought process then very soon our country will become a developed county.
Its peak of summer season and everybody is harassed of the arising temperature. What an irony in the end of March the weather was pleasant but in the end of April the heat is unbearable. Strange are the ways of God. A person uses electrical appliances to bring down the temperature. No doubt, the supply of the electricity is less than the demand in our country. Therefore everybody should conserve electricity. Instead of using two AC/Cooler if we can manage with one then we should definitely use. If you are saving electricity this way we are definitely saving resources of our nation and it’s one way of showing patriotism. “Jai Hind”
I specially thanks to Rev Arun Sareen, an open hearted & very cooperative person and Rev. S.P. Jindal Ji, a loftiest person, who have been contributed to the completion of this magazine. I extent my heartiest thanks to writers as well as the readers of “Cup of Knowledge” with whose kind cooperation this edition is going to be published successfully.

PARABLE

It takes lot of time to weave a cloth and prepare a garment, but it takes only a second to tear it off. Likewise, it takes several months to construct a house, and hardly any time to pull it down. Similarly, it takes a very long time to create a deep and lasting relationship, but it takes only a few seconds to break the bonds of love and friendship.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD – SANT NIRANKARI MISSION
Biography of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj – Part - II

SECOND MUSSORRIE CONFERENCE
Accordingly, Babaji convened the second Mussoorie Conference on May 14-16, 1973. About 500 delegates from India and abroad participated in it. In his opening address, Babaji desired that everyone should express his/her views freely and frankly and without any inhibition. At this conference, two important decisions on social reforms were also taken. One was on abstinence from the consumption of liquor and narcotics. The other was simple marriages and avoidable of pomp and show and display of dowry on marriages. Likewise, discrimination of caste, community and religion in matrimonial alliances had to be shunned. Babaji gave a clarion call to the youth to implement the decisions.
VIOLENT OPPOSITION
After the Mussoorie Conference, the Mission became a Mission of the masses. The misguided elements, who apprehended a set-back to their vested interests, could not tolerate the growing popularity of the Mission. They, accordingly, planned to wreck it under the smoke-screen of religion.
AMRITSAR INCIDENT
On 13th April, 1978, Baba Gurbachan Singh was to address the Baisakhi Samagam at Amritsar. However, before he reached the venue, the congregation was attached by about 200 fanatics, armed with lethal weapons. As a result, 18 precious lives were lost. When somebody asked Babaji as to how many of them belonged to ‘him’ and how many to his opponents, he remarked, ‘’ they were all mine, because I do not consider any body as my enemy’’. He advised them to pray for those who considered themselves as their opponents, because the true devotees of God have no enemies.
FATAL ATTACK
The fanatics, however, did not understand Babaji, his Mission and the gestures of non-vengeance. They made Babaji as the target of their violence. They attacked him in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and later near Durg in Madhya Pradesh, but did not succeed. Finally, however, Babaji fell to their bullets in Delhi, on 24th April, 1980.

Baba Gurbachan Singh may not be in our midst in the physical frame today. Yet his divine utterances and priceless teachings are very much alive even today and would endure forever.
Note: Above is the remaining part of the Biography which added in last edition.

WORDS OF THE
“TRUE MASTER OF THE TIME – BABA HARDEV SINGH JI MAHARAJ”
Leadership and learning are indispensable.
People grow old but not grow up.
Ignoring the facts does not change the fact.

MONETARY DEALINGS
In Business, our dealing with others should be neat and clean. We must be careful while having monetary dealings with others. Sometimes we come across person who makes quite lucrative offers of 3 percent, 4percent, 5percent interest. I have never heard money given at such high rates being received back. It gives lot of joy in beginning. One starts dreaming of buying property. But later on it is found that the entire amount is lost. Nobody has the money hanging by trees. We know the even big corporations and trust can’t afford to give such a higher rate of interest. But at the time we are anxious to get good return overnight. We do not think whether such a thing is really possible. Can it really happen on a long-term basis? Will the other person be able to pay such an amount? Thus the whole amount is lost. This spoils the relations. Mahapurshas distance themselves from each other. So, we have to be cautious, we have to be careful. The Borrower should also keep in mind that he has to return he amount. He should never think in term of not returning it.

Similarly, we are given several other kinds of allurements and we are taken in. we invest our own money and involve other also. Later on, we have to face complications. So, our efforts should be to keep our dealings neat and clean. We should be careful, because it is aid: when it comes to money, all people are of the same religion. We forget everything else. And gradually it becomes a part of our conduct. We should, therefore, be cautious and see to it that we do not cheat anybody; our intension should not be bad. This is how we should deal with Mahapurshas. We may have dealings with but there should be no intension to cheat or deceive them.

For True Master:
Kisi ne puchha kya hota satguru,
Aasma bola jo mujse aage tak faile hai, wo hota hai satguru
Suraj ne kha jisme chamk mujse jyada ho, wo hota hai satguru …..
Sagar kehta jo muse jyada gehra hai, wo hota hai satguru ……
Dharti kehti hai jisme athaa sabar bhra hai, wo hota hai satguru ….
Prem ki khamoshi boli mujse bhi jo pyara hai, wo hota hai satguru ….
Bol pde kuch bhagat guru k, keval satguru ko pta hai kya hota hai satguru.

Sands Of Time

Twilight walk on the beach, with soft silver sand...
Listen to the waves, almost breaking the silence on land.

The beautiful rhythm of the sea tickles your heart and soul…
Away from the busy flowing world, alone, you still feel whole.

Your dreams, aims and your achievements all runs down your mind…
Acquaint you to your true self, and leaves you content with nothing else to find.

The waves sparkle like the diamonds, as the moon blesses…
Inspiring you to grab the best one for your own crown of successes.

The day you realize your inner potential, your charisma, and your zest…
You’ll be the master of your mind and things smoothly happen for the best.

From then, even off the shore, zenith will always seem to hold your hand…
Creating the wonders of a twilight walk on the beach, with soft silver sand.

COVER STORY: Bulleh Shah

Biography: Pad – Pad Kitaaba Ilam Diya, Naam Rakh Leya Kaaji
Fad Talwaar Hath Vich, Naam Rakh Leya Gaaji
Makke Madine Ghum Aaya, Te Naam Rakh Leya Haaji
“Bulle Shah” Haasil Ki Kita, Je Yaar Na Kita Raaji.

Bulleh Shah is believed to have been born in 1680, in the small village of Uch, Bahawalpur, Punjab, now in Pakistan. His ancestors had migrated from Bukhara in modern Uzbekistan.
At the age of six months, his parents relocated to Malakwal. There his father, Shah Muhammad Darwaish, was a preacher in the village mosque and a teacher. His father later got a job in Pandoke, about 50 miles southeast of Kasur. Bulleh Shah received his early schooling in Pandoke, and moved to Kasur for higher education, to become a student of the prominent professor, Ghulam Murtaza. He also received education from Maulana Mohiyuddin. His spiritual teacher was the eminent Sufi saint, Shah Inayat Qadri.
Little is known about Bulleh Shah's direct ancestors, except that they were migrants from Uzbekistan. However, Bulleh Shah's family was directly descended from Muhammad.
Bulleh Shah himself became a respected scholar, but he longed for true inner realization. Against the objections of his peers, he became a disciple of Inayat Shah, a famous master of the Qadiri Sufi lineage, who ultimately guided his student to deep mystical awakening.
The nature of Bulleh Shah's realization led to such a profound egolessness and non-concern for social convention that it has been the source of many popular comical stories -- calling to mind stories of St. Francis or Ramakrishna. For example, one day Bulleh Shah saw a young woman eagerly waiting for her husband to return home. Seeing how, in her anticipation, she braided her hair, Bulleh Shah deeply identified with the devoted way she prepared herself for her beloved. So Bulleh Shah dressed himself as a woman and braided his own hair, before rushing to see his teacher, Inayat Shah.
Bulleh Shah practiced the Sufi tradition of Punjabi poetry established by poets like Shah Hussain (1538 – 1599), Sultan Bahu (1629 – 1691), and Shah Sharaf (1640 – 1724).
Bulleh Shah lived in the same period as the famous Sindhi Sufi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhatai (1689 – 1752). His lifespan also overlapped with the legendary Punjabi poet Waris Shah (1722 – 1798), of Heer Ranjha fame, and the famous Sindhi Sufi poet Abdul Wahad (1739 – 1829), better known by his pen-name, Sachal Sarmast (“truth seeking leader of the intoxicated ones”). Amongst Urdu poets, Bulleh Shah lived 400 miles away from Mir Taqi Mir (1723 – 1810) of Agra.
Poetry Style: The verse form Bulleh Shah primarily employed is called the Kafi, a style of Punjabi, Sindhi and Siraiki poetry used not only by the Sufis of Sindh and Punjab, but also by Sikh gurus.
Bulleh Shah’s poetry and philosophy strongly criticizes Islamic religious orthodoxy of his day. For example, the poem "Bullah Ki Jaana Main Kaun" contains the line:"Na main bhed mazhab da paaya; Na main aadam havva jaaya"which translates as:"Secrets of religion, I have not known; From Adam and Eve, I am not born"
A Beacon of Peace
Bulleh Shah's time was marked with communal strife between Muslims and Sikhs. But in that age Baba Bulleh Shah was a beacon of hope and peace for the citizens of Punjab. While Bulleh Shah was in Pandoke, Muslims killed a young Sikh man who was riding through their village in retaliation for murder of some Muslims by Sikhs. Baba Bulleh Shah denounced the murder of an innocent Sikh and was censured by the mullas and muftis of Pandoke. Bulleh Shah maintained that violence was not the answer to violence.
Bulleh Shah also hailed the Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur as a ghazi (Islamic term for a religious warrior).
He died in 1757, and his tomb is located in Kasur, Pakistan.
